I started a new job this year, so I thought it was about time to start a new blog for the sake of keeping others informed of what is going on with the music program at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church of San Francisco. It will be used as an educational tool to share with regular worshipers as well as the general public greater detail about upcoming services, links to historical and musical information about musical selections, traditions and other explanations of why we do what we do. With the exception of links and Twitters, much of what is published here can also be published in our mailed church newsletter. By publishing news here we can establish a greater online presence making us more accessible to the general public.
For now, the blog will be called Notes from the Cantor because I will be doing most of the writing on it to begin with. If in the future other writers come on board and the title gets changed, we can retain the same blog address: http://stmatthewssf.blogspot.com.
